Katie-Beth
Toups, President
Katie-Beth Toups, from Thibodaux, LA, is a Senior Music Education
major with a concentration in percussion. After serving as MENC
Secretary
last year, she is excited to be returning this year as
President.
With plans to expand the Music in the Schools Project and
encourage a
new diversity among its members, MENC is already pressing forward into
the new
term. After studying and practicing, Katie-Beth devotes much of
her
spare time to the MDA College Council, Sigma Alpha Iota, and her
beloved job as
Director of Music Ministries at Carpenter’s Chapel UMC. She also
performs with
the LSU Wind Ensemble and Schola Cantorum. Her future plans include
expanding
her private music studio and teaching elementary music education while *hopefully* being accepted into
FSU’s graduate program to study Music Therapy.

Sarah
Gillespie, Vice President
Sarah Gillespie is a junior and
will receive her degree in instrumental music education. This is
her first year as a member of the Executive Board. Her major
instrument is the horn, and she also enjoys singing. Sarah
remains quite involved in the Sigma Alpha Iota chapter at
LSU. When Sarah is not diligently practicing, she can be
found performing in various ensembles: LSU Orchestra, Symphonic Band,
Tiger Band, and the Women's Select Ensemble. After graduation, Sarah
plans to pursue a Master of Music degree in performance and hopes to
eventually teach horn at a college or university.

Rachel
Grelle, Secretary
Rachel Grelle is a senior majoring
in vocal music education with a minor in business administration.
Rachel served as treasurer of CMENC during the 2003-2004 school
year. Currently, she is also the treasurer of the American Choral
Directors Association and maintains VP Membership in Sigma Alpha
Iota. Rachel is s member of both the LSU Select Women's
Ensemble and Schola Cantorum. After completeing her undergarduate
work at LSU, Rachel plans to pursue a Master's Degree in music
business.

Sarah
Todenhoft, Treasurer
Sarah Todenhoft is excited to be
joining the Executive Board for the first time as treasurer.
Sarah will be receiving both a performance and a music education degree
from LSU. In addition to playing her clarinet in the Wind
Ensemble, Sarah is also a devoted chorister at St. Alban's Chapel. She
plans to attend graduate school and will pursue a performance career
before settling down to teach. Regardless of her career path,
Sarah will always be an advocate of music education.

Olivia
Colins, Chair of M.I.T.S. Project
Olivia Colins is a senior majoring
in music education. Olivia served as the vice- president of CMENC
during the 2003-2004 school year. As one of the founders of
M.I.T.S.,
Olivia is looking forward to serving the chapter in a new capacity as
the chair of the project. Olivia is an accomplished flutist
and participates in Symphonic Winds and other various chamber
ensembles. She is also a member of MTNA, the Golden Key
International Honour Society, and the Sierra Club. Olivia's
immediate future plans include being an effective and successful
educator and a positive role model for yound students.

Evelyn
Orman, Faculty Advisor
Dr. Evelyn Orman is an Assistant
Professor of Music Education at LSU and teaches courses in music
technology and instrumental music. She received the Bachelor of Music
Education degree from Murray State University, the Master of Education
in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida and
the Education Doctorate from The University of Alabama. Even though her
research interests are varied, her principal focus involves the
enhancement of music education through the use of computer technology.
She has presented research at regional and national conferences and has
published in music education journals.
